New Blogger GUI 2011 Improvement: Pages Editor

We've been using the static Pages editor for over a year. When the Pages editor was first released, we saw a few questions, which indicated a shortsided design for the Pages index gadget.
How do I link a page to my other blog?
and
How do I index a label search, in the Pages gadget?
These were just two typical questions.

Up until this month, the only possible answer, to either query, was to suggest that the blog owner replace the Pages gadget with a linklist. This is simpler than it appears - but still, not all blog owners wanted to take the effort. We've been asking Blogger to make this easier, for a while.

This month, in the New Blogger GUI (2011), we see the that requirement, answered. When you add a new page, you now have 2 choices.
  1. Blank page. Add text and media
  2. Web address. Send readers to another web address

Just use the second choice, "Send readers to another web address", for any non static page reference, such as a label search. The first choice, "Add text and media", gives you the well known static pages editor.

Finally, a Blogger feature that's actually that simple.

This only for the Blogger in Draft, right? Because I tried for the regular version, and there are no such options.

Thanks for the tip, but I don't see this option when creating or posting a new static page. Was hoping it could replace the horizontal table (the pages horizontal tab looks much better) which I'm using to allow for target="_blank" code in each link, which is not possible to access for static page source links. Here is the blog's url ...

I found the option (was using the old GUI) but unfortunately it only allows for insertion of a url, and it cannot implement the target="_blank" command. Music will stop playing without this code in the link. I will request this feature in the forum. Thanks for the info anyway, as this new option can eliminate an extra step in using html gadget to point to static pages, but just not with any commands in the link except for the url itself.

Adding A Link To Your Blog Post

Occasionally, you see a very odd, cryptic complaint I just added a link in my blog, but the link vanished! No, it wasn't your imagination.

Embedded Comments And Main Page View

The option to display comments, embedded below the post, was made a blog option relatively recently. This was a long requested feature - and many bloggers added it to their blogs, as soon as the option was presented to us. Some blog owners like this feature so much, that they request it to be visible when the blog is opened, in main page view. I would like all comments, and the comment form, to be shown underneath the relevant post, automatically, for everyone to read without clicking on the number of comments link. And this is not how embedded comments work.

What's The URL Of My Blog?

We see the plea for help, periodically I need the URL of my blog, so I can give it to my friends. Help! Who's buried in Grant's Tomb, after all? No Chuck, be polite. OK, OK. The title of this blog is "The Real Blogger Status", and the title of this post is "What's The URL Of My Blog?".
