With Google+ Based Comments, Moderation Is By Community

With Blogger based comments, only the blog owner is allowed to report abusive comments published against their blog. You are free to classify or delete comments posted against your blog - but comments posted against somebody else's blog are their business, and their opinion. With Google+ based comments, moderation is a community exercise . Anybody, seeing an abusive Google+ hosted comment or post, is able to "Block" and / or "Report abuse". You, the blog owner, have no special responsibilities or rights , with regard to comments posted by someone else, against your blog.

Stats Referer Spam Moderation Is Collaborative

Some blog owners just do not understand the realities of referer spam moderation. How can I set my dashboard, to not track pageviews from referring sites like "vampirestat . com"? Not everybody understands that Stats was not designed for catering to individual preferences, in deciding what statistics should be displayed. Stats spam moderation was not designed to allow for individuals to decide on what figures to display - or ignore. Like Blogger Comment moderation , Stats is collaborative, fuzzy, and heuristic. Collaborative systems work best when everybody is subject to the same restrictions. Blogger / Google can best fight referer spam by monitoring all activity, against all blogs, uniformly.

The Involuntary "Adult Content" Warning Is Collaborative

Some blog owners find evidence of opinion from their viewers, but cannot accept the opinions expressed. Why is there a "Content Warning" on my blog? They don't understand the collaborative opinion being expressed, when this warning is displayed.

Comment Moderation Is A Team Effort

High class universities, such as Eton, Harvard, and Yale, have a unique and intriguing sport that's enjoyed by both participants and spectators - team rowing . The participants work together, and propel their oar driven boats through the water at astounding speeds, by synchronising their oar movements. In team rowing, the team manager, or coxswain, is an essential participant. The coxswain does no rowing, but still contributes to the success of the team, by keeping the rowing synchronised. Without synchronisation, a team is useless. Team members not rowing - or worse, rowing out of step - slow the boat. The new comment moderation system is designed around the principles of team rowing.

Report Spammers

These forums are for getting, and providing, help in using Blogger one button publishing. They are not forums for advertising whatever commercial products or services you supply. Spam is simply not permitted here. Spam is like dog shite. The longer it stays: The more it stinks. The more dog shite you end up with. The harder it is to remove completely. You have to remove the spam immediately. The quicker it's removed, the less return the spammer gets, and the quicker he moves on and leaves his shite somewhere else. The less everybody complains (the stink), the less other spammers feel encouraged (the quantity), the easier it is to remove (the cleanup details). If you see it, get rid of it. Only Blogger Support can remove it, and they will only do so when they get enough reports about it , and it rises to the top of their queue. So everybody reading the forums, and this article, has to do their part, and report the spam . We laugh at, and curse, Blogger and Google, almost da...
