The Real Blogger Status

Blogger blog owners and viewers have been asking for the ability to post threaded comments, for many years. Today (slightly late for Christmas 2011), Blogger released it's first answer to that request - two level commenting . Blogger now supports threaded commenting, which means that it is now much easier to differentiate between whether someone is making a general comment on the thread, or responding to another comment on the thread. This is not what I would call classic "threaded commenting", but it's a reasonable alternative.

Like the Designer Templates from earlier this year , the Dynamic Templates being now offered by Blogger provide a significant change from the Layouts templates offered to us in 2007. Unlike the Designer templates , the Dynamic templates are easier to try out - both to apply to our blogs - and should we decide, to remove from our blogs.

Several months ago, we were promised a new look to the Blogger GUI. For the past couple months, a select few trusted testers had access to a preliminary version of the new GUI. This evening, they made the new GUI, 2011, available to everybody. Just go to http://draft.blogger.com , and you'll see it. There are lots of changes - some improvements, and other changes. They've solved a few problems - and possibly caused some others.
