Spam Review Requests Now Using Mobile Phone SMS For Verification

In the never ending battle against spam, and the unending attempts to make it easier for innocent bloggers to get their blogs restored, when falsely accused of hosting spam, Blogger is now using SMS and mobile phone service in the spam review verification process.

As with every feature that Blogger adds, problems are reported. SMS based verification is a process that should maybe be thought out a bit more. Some bloggers report the SMS verification is not 100% reliable.
Sorry, there seems to be a problem. The service you're looking for is temporarily unavailable.

If you're trying to verify blog ownership, with your blog falsely accused, and you're seeing this message, or something similar, please provide some details.
  • What's the blog URL?
  • What phone service do you use?
  • What's the area code of the phone?
  • What location is the phone registered in?
  • What's the message, if different from the sample above?

my question is this - is SMS an optional route or a mandatory route for contesting a false spam blog classification?

i ask because i've had to deal with having my blog falsely classified before and because i don't own a cell phone (and so SMS isn't something i can do).

it would suck if my blog were falsely classified as spam again and i couldn't do anything about it because of lack of hardware that google deems necessary for verification.

What's The URL Of My Blog?

We see the plea for help, periodically I need the URL of my blog, so I can give it to my friends. Help! Who's buried in Grant's Tomb, after all? No Chuck, be polite. OK, OK. The title of this blog is "The Real Blogger Status", and the title of this post is "What's The URL Of My Blog?".

Add A Custom Redirect, If You Change A Post URL

When you rename a blog, the most that you can do, to keep the old URL useful, is to setup a stub post , with a clickable link to the new URL. Yo! The blog is now at xxxxxxx.blogspot.com!! Blogger forbids gateway blogs, and similar blog to blog redirections . When you rename a post, you can setup a custom redirect - and automatically redirect your readers to the post, under its new URL. You should take advantage of this option, if you change a post URL.
