Blogger Isn't Responsible

for Blog*Spot being blocked by the Chinese Government.
I'm afraid this problem comes from the Chinese government - it blocks all Blog*Spot pages from being shown within the country. If you'd like to purchase a hosting service from another company, though, you'll be able to continue publishing through Blogger and you'll be able to see your blog. Sorry about this, but unfortunately, there's not much we can do about it.

From God's mouth, to your ears, folks. End of story.

I have Chinese friends who visit my blog so I checked Google on Chinese blocking Blogspot. The bulletin is dated March 2004. I know my friends have been to the blog in the last 3 months. So either the blocking is no longer in force or they have found ways around it. I'll email and check with them.

Thanks, Steve.

We'd appreciate any updates that you can provide. Maybe your friends know a good way around the block, and letting other Chinese know what we find out is a service that we can provide.

OK, Chuck, it's taken a while to hear back from my China contact.

He was blocked from my site the last month. Here's what he wrote:

"I couldn’t get on your blog for over a month, and I didn’t spare time to email you about that. I searched about that on the web and find some webs which offer Proxy Sever, by which I get on your blog at last. So the block really exists. The www-dot-wikipedia-dot-com has been blocked. And there are many comments on the internet about the block.
I don’t understand who want to know whether I do something special, and I am ok. We will talk more about that."

I think this is the proxy server he used:

MyJobNet.info

I think that should be enough, but it takes you to:

Hope that helps.

What's The URL Of My Blog?

We see the plea for help, periodically I need the URL of my blog, so I can give it to my friends. Help! Who's buried in Grant's Tomb, after all? No Chuck, be polite. OK, OK. The title of this blog is "The Real Blogger Status", and the title of this post is "What's The URL Of My Blog?".

Add A Custom Redirect, If You Change A Post URL

When you rename a blog, the most that you can do, to keep the old URL useful, is to setup a stub post , with a clickable link to the new URL. Yo! The blog is now at xxxxxxx.blogspot.com!! Blogger forbids gateway blogs, and similar blog to blog redirections . When you rename a post, you can setup a custom redirect - and automatically redirect your readers to the post, under its new URL. You should take advantage of this option, if you change a post URL.

Adding A Link To Your Blog Post

Occasionally, you see a very odd, cryptic complaint I just added a link in my blog, but the link vanished! No, it wasn't your imagination.
