Like any blogger, I appreciate polite comments, when they are relevant to the blog, and posted to the relevant article in the right blog. If you want to ask me a question thats relevant to blogging, but you can't find the right post to start with (I haven't written about everything blogger related, yet, nor the way things are going I don't expect to either), ask your questions here, or leave an entry in my guestbook.
As noted above, please note my commenting policy. If you post a comment to this post, I will probably treat it as a "Contact Me" post. If you have an issue that's relevant to any technical issue in the blog, please leave a comment on the specific post, not here. This post is for general comments, and for non posted contact to me.

Seriously... I had transfered my blog to a different host, decided I didn't like it... and when I switched back, I got a 404. One of your posts showed me the way to restore my blog! Thank you so much. I've linked back to your blog as a way of showing my appreciation : http://www.pixel-shack.net/2008/04/test.html
I'm very very helpless, in regards to my blog on blogger, at the moment and went to google groups for help but couldn't get any but have seen that you have helped quite some people in making their blogging life easier!
Anyway, I'm gonna start with my huge problem now!
I bought a domain from iDotz.net (BRS Media) two months ago. I set up google apps with it so the DNS settings got set up on their own(?). When i login to google apps, it's working perfectly fine, however even when i try everything on blogger, like publish on a custom domain and then switch advanced settings, redirect www.domain.com to domain.com and everything however it's still not working. Now it shows me a 404 - Page not found error and says
"Sorry...
...but that beautiful web page you're looking for isn't here yet. Stay tuned!
Yours,
The Google Page Creator Team
Is this your page?
If you're looking for a page that you created in Google Page Creator, please remember to press the Publish button. We can't wait to see your pages."
I really dunno what to do Chuck...please help me!
Have you posted already in GBH: Something Is Broken, and I missed the post? If so, my apologies. But the online forums are much easier to use, then Blogger Blog Commenting, for interactive problem solving.
I've seen questions similar to mine, but not quite: How can I, using Blogger or other free platform, allow an unlimited number of authors, whose posts will appear immediately (no pre-approval or permissions required by the administrator)?
Thanks so much for any insights you might have.
Best,
Shirley
Other than that, I find the tools easier to use than Live Journal.

Thank you for pointing me to a starting point. Like Jukeboxgrad, I'm feeling cyber-Neanderthal-like.
Per your instructions:
Ran the WinsockXPFix. It said there were no errors.
Ran the LSPFix. It said there were no errors.
Have attempted to do something/anything with the DRTCP021. It has been downloaded and unzipped to my desktop. It doesn’t do anything when I click on it. I have changed from the LAN setting given to my Sony Erickson wireless card. It won’t do anything else. The MTU box is blank. What am I supposed to do with it? I have tried the 1500, 1400, and 500 settings given in the examples to no avail.
Have read at least 25 pages of information, most of which deals with fixing one computer in a network, thereby having something to compare to. This doesn’t work for me because my laptop is a stand-alone.
Command prompts: I know my IP gateway, Subnet mask, and Default gateway. The pathping tracing route to www.1.google.com “over a maximum of 30 hops” gives me a different IP.
Blogger is the only site I’ve attempted to get to in at least six months that I can not get to. When www.blogger.com is typed into the search bar it changes to https://www.blogger.com. Then https://www.blogger.com/start. When I type in my signon and password it goes to https://www.blogger.com plus a very long string that includes ADD SERVICE (I’m not shouting, it is actually in caps in the search bar which is probably why I can see it) but goes to http://www.blogger.com/home/?pli=1 before I can catch the whole string. Then the Not Found Error 404 pops up. Please notice the http/https changes – if they mean anything at all.
When I ping www.blogger.com it gives me 4 replies from 209.85.159.191: bytes 32, with times of 1036 ms, 819 ms, 695 ms, and 790 ms and TTL=241. Ping statistics: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost – 0 (0% loss). I have no idea what this means other than my connection is slow. Cellular and dial-up are my only options. Cellular is faster.
As part of the DNS search issue, ping –f -1 209.85.159.191 tells me it is a bad option -1.
Ping –f 1500 209.85.159.191 tells me “Bad parameter 209.85.159.191”
I double-checked to make sure blogger’s IP was typed in correctly both times. Why the difference and what does it tell?
Am I getting any closer to fixing this?
Linda

I keep hoping for you to start leaving your comment in my MTU Diagnostic article Check The MTU Setting On Your Computer. Do you see the link in the post title?
That's where you need to start. And if you can start using an authenticated comment - not anonymous, I can maybe email you, and we can get this process moving forward.
I have a question I hope you can answer:
Is it okay with Google if I have a webpage that links to my blogger.com page?
I have heard otherwise - can you please clarify and confirm either way?
Do I need to do anything special with regards to Google Blogger and stay in good standings?
I appreciate your help & thank you in advance!
This web site (blog) is part of the World Wide Web. The key word here is "Web", which says that it contains links from web site to web site.
Links to your web site from other web sites (some of which you own also, others you don't) are perfectly fine. Relevant links are most useful, but all links have their place.
THANK YOU!!!!
Thanx for your kind assistance as usual...
Keep up the good work!
First thanks for your kind flattery. ;-)
I THINK that what you're looking for is the Link field (Settings - Formatting). If not, you might want to post in GBH: How Do I?? The online forums are much easier to use, then Blogger Blog Commenting, for interactive problem solving.
Google need to fix the problem with blogs being accused of being spam and then being deleted like mine was. To them it is just one of millions of blogs but to the individuals who write them they do mean a great deal and take a lot of hard work to make.
Anyway, that's up to Google to sort out. I can help for $10 per hour, I'm cheap, lol, cheap lil hussy Muahahaha xx
I just wanted to say, "Thanks for the help a couple days ago!"

Check your Compose Mode setting.
My question is about "follow this blog." I have 31 followers but I think the widget is now broken. If I try to click on "follow this blog", the internet explorer message appears prompting me to check connection status. I am worried that if I reinstall the widget I will delete my followers. I am very grateful for any advice. Many thanks!
Re installing a widget does not delete the data, it just removes and replaces the display code.
I'm not sure that re installing the widget will do anything about a communications error message though. Have you posted in GBH: Something Is Broken? I suggest that you do that, now.
An interesting development. With Blogger involved, I'd believe anything, without expecting it to last. Let's see what you notice tomorrow, plus see if any other reports come up in the forums.
I posted a proposal to Blogger for expanding the pageType attribute. Please have a look at it and raise awareness if possible. Thank you.
http://leftclickblog.blogspot.com/
is slow to load.
Other blogs of mine on the same account are fine. But this one -- using
the NEO template -- is almost unusable. Even accessing the Customize/
Layout section of the blog's inner workings is abysmally slow to load.
I thought it was a problem with my browser (I checked both Fx and IE)
but readers have contacted me and complained too.
So something has suddenly changed. Is it the feeds being generated or
not?
Have I done something new recently to the template? No.
The blog's main feed works fine
http://feeds.feedburner.com/Leftclick
Ah...but the Recent Posts feed has collapsed completely -- NEO's
driving force. . Blogger sabotage. So whats' the chances of getting it
back. They've been working under the hood and changed the machinery.
Do I have to go looking for a new template and drop my favorite template?
(I fear I know the answer).
If you took a car, let's say a Ford, and dropped a Chevy engine into it, would you expect it to run? Even if Chevy designed the engine to run in a Ford, would you expect Ford dealers to honour the warranty?
Please, Dave.
This is simplay another case of a third party modification that worked once, and now doesn't work. Not Blogger sabotage.
Any idea how this could have happened? Will it just spontaneously unlock as fast as it locked up in the first place?
Just wondered how this could happen. Thanks.
(PS: Love your blog, have discovered so much that is helpful here...my first comment, I think!)
My email is in my profile, which I thought was sufficient to ask a question.
No, I don't blog under my real name, too many freaks. I notice a couple of other women in this thread have not used their whole names either, but you helped them. I took that to mean I could ask a question if I disclosed my email address. Was that a mistaken assumption?
I'm sorry, did not understand the protocol.
The above comment by me was part of a test, and not addressed to you. Sorry for any misunderstanding. The test was unrelated to any other comment posts by people intentionally making comments.
http://domusfactory.blogspot.com/
This is a good topic for my forum Nitecruzr Dot Net - Blogging. Online forums are much easier to use, then Blogger Blog Commenting, for interactive problem solving.
However, I learned something from this. I had never thought of making a post on a particular issue and then putting a link to it in the sidebar - thanks as always.
I get annoyed by a lot of comments, where folks comment on any post with any comment - a fair amount of comments that I see aren't post-appropriate.
I Reject the comments that annoy me, and get on with my life. At least comments in this post are general, so what gets Rejected isn't going to be technically significant.
My English so poor, please forgive if i have mistake in writing.
I am from Vietnam. i am not a pro blogger, not programmer and not designer i only know alittle about blog.My blog : hocpsd.com
I don't understand why some picture (i use picture to make link) and banner can't display in browser (IE and FF).when i browse it from my computer, it is ok, but from any another computer is no banner and no image for link. Please help me to solve the problem.can you give me your mail address, i will send picture that i capture from my computer to you if you do not mind
You suggested me to use :
delhievents.com. 600 IN CNAME ghs.google.com.www.delhievents.com. 600 IN CNAME ghs.google.com.
But will both show the same blog?
After you have a "CNAME" referral for "delhievents.com" and "www.delhievents.com", both to "ghs.google.com", you publish to "www.delhievents.com" then select "Redirect delhievents.com to www.delhievents.com".
i didn't remember : "Redirect delhievents.com to www.delhievents.com"
it was already checked long time back.
So, almost moved to godaddy now.
Here is what godaddy says :
Please note that it is against our Universal Terms of Service to use shared hosting to store files unrelated to your hosted site. You can create CNAMEs for sub domains within your account but you cannot create a CNAME for delhievents.com, with no www, to direct to ghs.google.com. If you wish to direct delhievents.com to ghs.google.com you will need to forward the doamin to http://www.delhievents.com and disable the hosting.
So, what do you say?
It's time for you to join The N Zone, so we can work on this in convenience with peer support.
Thanks for the opportunity to ask a question. Hope this is an easy one.
I have a blogspot blog (http://www.lamourproject.com) that I deleted at the beginning of April, just a couple of months ago. Up until that point, I was getting good results from Google—it was recognizing my site and I could find it easily with a variety of searches.
I kept it deleted until this past weekend, then revived it. During that time, Google crawled my site and, of course, found a bunch of 404 errors.
My question is, since I've undeleted my blog, will Google crawl again and "find" all of the pages it missed during the last sweep? Or are those posts "lost" to Google now since it tried finding them and couldn't when my blog was deleted?
Thanks for any help you can offer.
I wonder if anyone else had trouble with postdated posts today.
I somehow deleted a blog: www.staugustine-ecc.blogspot.com
Would like to resurrect it and use same url, but with different email address. When I go to blogspot, it recognizes my email, and doesn't seem to allow me to use another. Need to keep this church blog separate from my own (allowing different profiles, etc). Please someone help!
You need to post this in GBF: Something Is Broken, so we can help you better.
Do in this order:
1. Submit a review request.
2. Submit an appeal.
3. Post in Blogger Help Forum, stating the URL(s) of the blog(s).
Read detailed instruction.
This is a constant problem.
Please help. I need to have my blog published in a place where I can upload other files to and you cannot upload anything to blogspot.
Thanks,
endlessrelationships@gmail.com
There are prerequisites to using FTP Publishing.
I had made a bookmark for my browser, and clicked on it to random Blogger-surf occasionally.
Now, that is no longer functional, and the "Next Blog" function will only work from an actual blog, i.e. from yours, the URL is: http://www.blogger.com/next-blog?navBar=true&blogID=24069595
I'm having a hard time figuring out why Blogger would make such a change.
Thanks.
Romamti Ezer.
This is a question that you must ask, in BHF: Something Is Broken, or in Nitecruzr Dot Net - Blogging. Peer support, and forums, are necessary for problem solving.
And you must get the details right. There is no way that you published to "twvue.blogger.com", or to "econoslob.blogger.com."
You really should ask this question in Blogger Help Forum: Something Is Broken, or in Nitecruzr Dot Net - Blogging.
You need peer support in a dialogue, and a forum is where you get that. Not in a commenting Q&A.
Is there a way to disable the Next Blog feature in the Nav Bar?
Thanks,
Ed
The only possibility is that you hide the navbar.
Are you available to have a short conversation to help me assure that my my dns settings are correct? I've got a www.example.com & google sites situation... I would like some to LOOK at the screenshot of my DNS config page and make sure everything is ok. Thank you.
E.V.
Sure! Just start a thread in Blogger Help Forum: How Do I?, or in Nitecruzr Dot Net - Blogging, for peer support.
Welcome to Blogger blogging. If your blog was accused of being spam, post in Blogger Help Forum: Something Is Broken, politely, as you did here. Use of mixed case is appreciated, as ALL CAPS is a form of shouting. We'll guide you there, if you're patient with us.
We received your unlock request on November 22, 2009. On behalf of the robots, we apologize for locking your non-spam blog. Please be patient while we take a look at your blog and verify that it is not spam.

NOW HOW I CAN RESTORE MY BLOG HOW I CAN REOPEN THAT HOW I COULD USE THAT.
For a spam lock problem, you must post in Blogger Help Forum: Something Is Broken. There's no other solution for that.
http://thanksgivingstories.blogspot.com
but can't get to the blog
You need to report this in Blogger Help Forum: Something Is Broken, for peer help and escalation to Google.
Yhere is one solution for your problem. Get into Blogger Help Forum: Something Is Broken, ask a question, and start the review / appeal process. That's it.
Hope all is well

That's in my post about "Adding Social Networking Buttons".
Seeing Christmas is fast approaching and its time to share goodwill, I just wanted to say thanks for publishing this blog, and all the time and effort you put in over at Blogger help Forum.
I pity the people who have to wade through the appeals. It's like when I have to read my e-mail "raw" with no spam filters. Shudder.
Widen the Main container, in the template code.
If this account is separate from the domain administrator account, then the password is reset by the domain admin. If this account is the domain admin, then I think you'll have to ask this question in the Google Apps Support forum.
I have a question about how google defines "repeated infringers." From my understanding, if a blog receives enough DMCA notices, Google will take down the blog on the basis of repeated infringer. Why doesn't Google release this information about what a repeated infringer is?
Hope you can help!
Thanks
This indeed sounds like a blog that's subject to auto pagination. You're going to need to insert "Jump Break"s, not "Read More"s. Get the right solution!
I want to add a message board to my blog do you know of any safe templates to use or widgets etc. etc... Thanks
From all the help questions I can see lots of people have trouble. should I just give up on Blogger.com and try someone else? Or can you help?
You, like a few others, have installed a hacked gadget on your blog. You're going to need peer support, in Blogger Help Forum: Something Is Broken.
This is an excellent question to ask in Blogger Help Forum: How Do I?, where you get peer support interactively.
So frustrating that my blog was removed.
I'll offer you two choices here.
1. Learn to diagnose the problem.
2. Ask the problem in public, in Blogger Help Forum: Something Is Broken.
How about you ask this in Blogger Help Forum: How Do I?, where we can work together easier?
My Current blog is hosted by blogger,at www.lifeatgitamhyd.blogspot.com
And I would like to move into a custom domain,I currently use Windows Live Write(WLW)to publish to my Blog,I want to know if I can continue to do the Same even after moving over to a custom domain,Are there any other disadvantages over using a custom domain ?
Publishing to a custom domain affects the URL of the blog, it has nothing to do with the source of the content. You can use WLW, or any other desktop interface, as you wish.
Terry
OK, Vonnie,
You are forgiven. I will ask that you report this in Blogger Help Forum: Something Is Broken, so we can have a dialogue and figure out how to resolve it.
How do i put my blog into my new site through iweb?
I think this is a matter for iWeb to answer. Maybe, you could ask this in Blogger Help Forum: How Do I?, so we can have a dialogue about what needs to be done.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
It's a business decision. The cost of having a court to arbitrate URL ownership disputes would provide more liabilities than assets.
Blogger / Google simply says
"Blog*Spot addresses do not expire". It really is that simple.
http://socorrodecastro.blogspot.com http://socorrodecastro2.blogspot.com
How do I show My Blogs (2 with different usernames and URLs) on both blogs? On edit profile, it says select which blog to display but there's nothing to choose from except the one corresponding to each blog. There are no other selections or choices. I see others with different blogs displayed. How is that done? I'm desperate with Blogger Help center. I haven't found any answer. Thanks again.
I forgot my username for my blogger account, as well as the secondary email address I entered for creation. I know my blogspot website. Please, if I could email to someone in blogger to help me with retrieving the username I used to log in to my site it would be good. I could answer the security question as well. I don't need password (I know it). The only thing I need is my username. The help section isn't helping, it brings me to a dead end each time, and I'm feeling helpless now.
Help would be appreciated, kindly enlighten me. Thank you!
Email simply is not possible. You will have to start a new discussion in Blogger Help Forum, so I can escalate it to Blogger Support. That's the only way, really.
Matthew
This is a problem which truly needs to be discussed in Blolgger Help Forum, where we can have an in depth dialogue.
How do I reply to your answer in the help forum? How do we have an in-depth dialogue?
1. You ask a new question, to start.
2. I reply to your question ("Post reply").
3. You reply to my reply (again, "Post reply").
and so on.
I'll do what I can do, but I can do much more after you do what you must do.
According to the w3c Validator my nevertheless blog
http://www.neverthelessnation.com has 350 errors and 350 warnings. I use a recent Mac and I'm having difficulty finding an app or method that will "tidy up" my code. I'd be mighty grateful if you have any suggestions ?
I think, if you read the fine print, you'll find that they test just the home page, in your 350 / 350. If your blog has more than the home page (and most blogs do), you'll find a few more errors elsewhere.
My suspicion is that most Blogger blogs are in the same boat as yours - and mine. I don't think that you have a lot of possibility of removing 100% of the errors displayed.
When I ran W3 Validation against my blog long ago, I found a few stupid coding errors - like unclosed <li> and <p> sections - and those I work hard to keep out of my new code. But going back and fixing everything is a task only for Sisyphus. And more than a few errors are template based.
I'm betting if Mozilla ever makes a super strict browser that absolutely refuses to display non "compliant" websites like Blogger blogs, Google will buy Mozilla out. I don't think Blogger will be making their templates W3 super Compliant any time soon.
Whether you remove yourself completely from the errors depends upon the website publishing platform, that's used by your paid hosting service. Only time will tell whether the new publishing platform is immune to W3 violations.
Also, I'm wondering whether it's at all worthwhile writing to the paid hosting service before I commit to them about this issue and asking if their website publishing platform, is immune to W3 violations ?
Might there be a list or comparison chart somewhere that demonstrates each of the possible website publishing platforms, immunity from W3 violations or am I putting too much on this whole issue ?
I moved my blog into a custom domain,And I have created a test sub blog.
url :www.lifeatgitamhyd.com
sub domain: http://gitam360.lifeatgitamhyd.com/
I wanted to know if I can convert it to
http://www.lifeatgitamhyd.com/gitam360
I did try searching your site, but guess couldn't find the right key words :)
You can publish to "gitam360.lifeatgitamhyd.com" (after righteous DNS addresses are setup). As a custom domain you will not be able to publish to "www.lifeatgitamhyd.com/gitam360".
I have been trying to unfollow a few blogs but none the instructions I have found on your site or Blogger have helped. I do as instructed and the blogs remain firmly there, on my list. I have tried to stop following from both Blogger and Google Reader
Please help
many thanks
JM
Thanks,
Eddie
http://eddiesbigtrip.blogspot.com/
Put a custom menu bar just beneath the header, with a link to the other blog, as I did above.
Robinwdunham@aol.com
ive been searching all day for it so that i can use it cause there is nudity on my blog
The voluntary Content Warning is selected from Settings - Basic, as "Adult Content?".
I started a new blog for webcomics on Blogger.com.
I wanted to add 3 "buttons" or even just links at the bottom of the the page:
"Previous" will take the reader to the previous post from the current one
"Next" will take the reader to the next page from the current one
"Random" will take the reader to a random post
Note: there is only one post displayed per page.
I don't know how exactly to go about this, as I don't like the small "Older posts" link at the bottom of the page.
If you want to see exactly what I am referring to, then here is an example from another webcomic:
http://abstrusegoose.com/277
I wanted links or buttons similar to the ones at the top/bottom of the comic
If it helps, here is a link to my blog:
http://shan-doodles.blogspot.com/
I am using the new Blogger "simple" template from the new template designer.
If you can edit the post template, you can customise the "Newer Posts" / "Older Posts" links.
If your blog was removed for spam, you have to ask that it be reviewed, by starting a discussion in BHF: Something Is Broken. That's your only choice.
Thank you so much for the help, I will the one for putting the image as a link.
Thank you, thank you.
But is there any way to do the "random" post thing? where the link takes the user to a random page?
Thanks again
I've seen queries, from time to time, about "randomizing" blog display content. It's content on a computer, so it's possible. Whether it's doable by you, or by me, is another question.
This would be a good question for BHF: How Do I?.
im very confused.
i bought a custom domain through blogger about 40 hours ago, it now says my blog is in transition. however, it also says the DNS records aren't set up properly. i have no idea what to do. the domain i bought is www.theunicornandtheprincess.com, but this isnt even registered. why? im so so confused and just want my web to work. do i have to do something with the records? if so where and what do i do?????????
I'll ask you to leave another question in the forum, and I'll look for it. If you are able, drop another comment with the URL of your forum question.
These problems should be discussed in BHF: Something Is Broken, so we can diagnose them easier.
I want to organize my blog posts into categories, and I know there is the "labeling" feature, but it would be more beneficial to me to be able to move existing posts into different pages. I know how to create pages, but is there a way to move posts? I hope this all makes sense lol.
Dani
You can assign and de assign any labels to any posts, which will move posts from label search page to label search page.
I just have a quick question. When a blog is falsely suspended and you go through the verification process, you have to submit the date your blog was created, no? But what if you don't know, and do they accept the date of the last domain change? Thanks.
That's Adding A Forum To Your Blog.
This needs to be discussed in BHF: Something Is Broken, for diagnosis.
Thanks for the feedback! The icon (aka avatar) issue is one that could be discussed in BHF: Something Is Broken. If you already have a discussion there, let me know the URL, and I'll chime in.
Labelling, and manually formatting sections, are the only two possible solutions.
Why? Because every 30 seconds Blogger "saves" my info. I will be buzzing along, writing or uploading pics and then poof, Blogger is "saving" my info and it takes forever! Sometimes Blogger will take 1 minute or longer, and everything is at a standstill. For a while this problem was awful, then it seemed as if something was corrected. But, now the problem is back!I hope I am making sense. Ha!
Any ideas? Does Blogger know how frustrating it is when you are trying to write a post and they keep taking 1 min. or longer to "save" for you!
Ugh.
misha
Autosave only works until you publish the post the first time. Publish a stub post, then edit the stub with your content.
The "Next Blog" relevancy classification process has a lot of room for improvement, unfortunately. It's still better than the old system, though.
Maybe, you could try Blogger profile or Following surfing, instead.
i see you have a cute translator on the side with flags...can i have the html code for it?
Instructions:
What Are These?
This problem is seen, pretty regularly, in BHF: Something Is Broken. You need to post a question there, and be patient with me and the other helpers. This problem isn't always easy to diagnose.
This really needs to be diagnosed in BHF: Something Is Broken, not here.
A number of widgets that provide dynamic content from our blogs - such as "Top Commentators", "Blog Lists", and "Followers" - broke a few days ago. Blogger Support is aware of this, and is working on it.
This report absolutely must be posted in BHF: Something Is Broken.
Thanks!
Deborah
Also once I get in and click on another link from my dashboard or open another window in Blogger, I am kicked off and must go through the whole process of logging on again.
Additionally some of my commenters have complained that my comments page will not load. This has been happening for about two weeks now.
Do you know of any fix for this. I have tried a few things but there is not much information available on this problem though I have done several searches.
If your blog is public, go to Settings - Site Feed, and enable "Allow Blog Feeds". If the blog is private, you won't publish a feed.
I created a second blog using the same email/password as my first. As a result, I couldn't access first blog.
This problem is seen, pretty regularly, in BHF: Something Is Broken. You need to post a question there, and be patient with me and the other helpers. This problem isn't always easy to diagnose.
17/8/10 12:37
There still isn't a solution to my problem. You said it isn't always easy to diagnose.... is it in fact possible? I wonder because it seems to happen regularly as you said, based on the posts I've seen, but I don't see solutions. The solved problems on 'Something is Broken' seem to be about posting and style problems, not access. Would you say I've lost my blog permanently (it would be a huge disappointment.) Thanks again.
Yes, it is possible. It depends heavily upon what is wrong, though. The issue of authentication, blog ownership, and related security issues, is unbelievably complex. Read that, if you dare.
OK, so I read the "unbelievably complex' thing... I followed the suggestions. Unfortunately, I didn't do what I should have when I inadvertently created 2 blogs with the same info. I didn't transfer, simply deleted the second. So, what do I do now?
By the way, the information on my account page lists my blog name with the correct e-mail. I just can't log onto it. The blog name does not show up when I go to list it with Google so that it is recognized.
Thank you for the post http://blogging.nitecruzr.net/2009/08/using-html-template-with-layouts.html
Right now I'm investigating in order to start blogging using blogger platform and would be pretty happy to know, are there any benefits in the approach of combining xml and html, or which one is better and why. I'm not that much savvy, yet completely capable of customizing using both of the methods (as I suppose).
Would like to make the right choice from the start.
Please express your opinion.
Thank you in advance.
As a senior citizen of 59 blogging for the past 2 years, I do not think I have the luxury of reblogging my hacked blogs - reported to BHF: Something is Broken with no response todate. My blogs are at
http://lspeng1951.blogspot.com
http://pohhockseah.blogspot.com
http://wayangchineseopera.blogspot.com
http://penangwesakcelebrations.blogspot.com
and another at
http://gardentropics.blogspot.com
I am wits end as had spend so much time and effort in these "attached" blogs.
I shall deeply appreciate your kind assistance.
May God bless you.

First, reset the post template. If that does not help, check the comment form size.
I've followed your guide, "Static Pages, And A Custom Pages Index Part 1 and 2". It worked the way it should perfectly, and I wanted to let you know that I appreciate people like you who posts these very useful things on the net for us blogging newbies.
However, I wasn't able to accomplish what I really needed: multiple posts in a page other than the homepage. I'm having trouble understanding how you do it here in your blog. I couldn't find any guide or, if I have found it already, I may be having trouble understanding it. I'm really sorry, Chuck. I tried to contact you in a different comment box, I think it was on the 'General Comments', although I'm not sure... but I didn't get any reply. I even left my email and I've been checking it always to see if you've replied, but you haven't. I know that you hate SPAM, and I'm really sorry for double posting. I hate SPAM too. But you're the only one I have to make this work. I've been trying my best to search for a solution to my problem on the internet for weeks, without success.
Here it is again, if I may:
1.I want to post multiple posts in a page other than the home page (I have custom pages using your link list trick).
2.I want to control/organize what posts appear on the home page (remove outdated post on my homepage, and stick a welcome post, not a welcome note, that contains link to the other pages.)
3.I want to know how I can remove the timestamp at the top of every post.
And a suggestion, if I may:
Have you tried to use the 'wibiya widget'? It has these cool features like putting a chat toolbar on your blog and other cool stuff. I have it on my blog and I like it so much.
Thanks in advance for replying, Chuck!

I am the president of http://www.westchesterchessclub.com
We set up this site years ago, and still spend something like $100 for hosting. Are we nuts? The kid who set it up is now a PhD student, and the son of our tournament director. He insists this is what it takes.
I just created (via Blogger) a simple site for my son's boy scout troop http://www.scarsdaletroop60.org
My site is of about the same complexity as our chess site, but it only cost me $10/yr for the domain. AFAIK google is hosting the files for free.
So my question is: shouldn't the chess club just set up a google site (I'm thinking the Blogger solution is not quite right) and point our club's domain at it?
If so, does that mean we'd only have to pay $10/yr to maintain our site?
Is the repointing technically difficult?
If you are happy with a website that's hosted by Blogger, then go for it. With the Chess Club website, you're paying for content hosting, as the most expensive service.
With website content hosting, you get more services, that let you create more complex and dynamic websites. And you generally get a real time, one on one advice and support hot line.
If you setup a Blogger blog, pay extra for a non BlogSpot URL, and need a website later, you can do that, too.
I didn't want to risk posting a question to you at an old discussion thread, so I came to your blog site, and since it looks like you are a 'top dog' on this stuff.
I'm definitely a newbie, so bear with me if I say or ask something "Homer Simpson-ish" ;>)
I joined a cell phone ad campaign promoter who uses AdMob to send ads for promoting affiliates and getting payment compensation all over the globe. If I am paying for these ads, would I be able to have a doorway page with a video? Visitors and/or hits per their bids going to this page could be in the 100,000s. Is this acceptable business? They would be all opt-in visitors. Not spam, IMO.

I don't see this as a hack. If the visits to this one URL are that common, you can use StatCounter, which will give you a log, by visitor, so you can see precisely where the link to this URL is being referenced.
i have created a blog for a friend and did this under my already existing account. This was fine until they now want access to their blog. Giving them access to their blog gives them access to all the blogs under my account and i don't want that. How can i transfer the entire blog i created for her (including custom template, logo, etc) to another account/email? I see the instructions to import/export but this does not work on the template - just the posts and comments.... Cheers and thank you in advance!
Transfer control of the blog, using the Settings - Permissions wizard, in a simple, 4 step procedure. This will be much easier to do, when you use 2 different browsers, or 2 computers.
We try to reach you to solve a wrong SPAM issue about my blogs. Instead, we reieve wrong emails from people to you!!!!
