The Mysterious Vanishing Blogs

Occasionally we see a "Deleted Blog" report in Blogger Help Forum: Something Is Broken, that mentions a blog that's not deleted. Somebody reports
Help me! My blog is missing!!

Standard ownership analysis of the blog reveals that it is online, and it is owned by the blog owner, under the expected profile. Yet, the blog owner swears that it's not accessible, from the dashboard.

Sometimes, this discrepancy is caused by incorrect transfer of a blog, from one Blogger account to another - or possibly by a basic misunderstanding of the relationships between Blogger accounts, email addresses, and Google accounts. Always bear in mind that "email accounts" can include both GMail and non GMail email addresses - and there are significant differences between the two, when used in setting up a Blogger account.

In other cases, the blog may be offline - but Blogger will expect you to request review of the blog, from a dashboard link, to get the blog returned to online status. Alternately, the account - and blog(s) - may be locked because of detected "suspicious" account activity.

Some time ago, after numerous requests from blog owners with large dashboard lists (I'm a charter member of that club), Blogger gave us a way to organise our dashboard list (currently, this is an option only in the Classic Blogger GUI), and only list the blogs that we access the most often. If we have a blog that we access rarely, we can find it in the dashboard, and select the "Hide" link. That removes it from the list, when normally viewed.

If we need to access a rarely needed blog, we go the bottom of the dashboard list. At the bottom of the dashboard (above "Reading List"), we'll see the "Show all" / "View all blogs" link. Clicking on the link, we'll see all blogs, including those that we had deleted, those that we had hidden (using the "Hide" link), and blogs deleted or locked by Blogger for suspected spam hosting.

With all blogs listed, "Show all" will be replaced by "Minimize list". If we want to return a given blog to being always displayed, clicking on the blog link for "Always show" will do that. When we have found the missing blog, clicking on "Minimize list" returns the list to hiding all deleted, hidden, and spam locked blogs.

If you're missing a blog, and the missing blog is not caused by confusion over the Blogger account, look for - and click on - "Show all" or "View all blogs". Your mysteriously missing blog should appear.

Hi, Chuck

I've read your articles about deleted blogs and especially Blogs Are Being Removed For Just Cause but my case is a little bit different. Two days ago my blog was deleted. I tried to log in and Google asked me to verify my password with mobile because of some unusual activity. Verification was successful and my blog appeared. It is not locked, it is visible for all and I can post and edit messages. But there is a message on the front page:
Content Warning
Some readers of this blog have contacted Google because they believe this blog's content is objectionable. In general, Google does not review nor do we endorse the content of this or any blog. For more information about our content policies, please visit the Blogger Terms of Service

My blog is ordinary girlish stuff - no spam, no porn or other offensive content. I wrote to support forum but I didn't get answer yet. What steps would you recommend in this case? Should I ask Google to review my blog? Is there any form or page where I can do this?

Thanks (and sorry for my poor english).

If your blog has a non deserved Content Warning, you may be able to get it reviewed and / or removed, by posting a new discussion in Blogger Help Forum: Something Is Broken.

Hi Chuck,

So, I'm incredibly frustrated. I followed all the rules, tips and tricks to recoup my blog. I recovered my email address, went to my Dashboard, looked for it there, to no avail.
Is there NO other way to find my blog? Is it gone forever? I did delete my blog over 3 years ago, so maybe that's the problem right there.
My blog was

Le Anne,

There's no mystery here - sorry. If you deleted your blog over 3 years go, it's gone. You're entitled to post in Blogger Help Forum: Something Is Broken, and we'll see if Blogger Support has an idea - but don't be too hopeful.

I can see my blog, am logged into the correct account, but when I go to the dashboard it has vanished and I have NO blogs. (I only had the one.) Thus, I cannot post or edit.

By any chance, did you recently have to change your password, solve a CAPTCHA, or provide your phone number to recover account access?

Adding A Link To Your Blog Post

Occasionally, you see a very odd, cryptic complaint I just added a link in my blog, but the link vanished! No, it wasn't your imagination.

What's The URL Of My Blog?

We see the plea for help, periodically I need the URL of my blog, so I can give it to my friends. Help! Who's buried in Grant's Tomb, after all? No Chuck, be polite. OK, OK. The title of this blog is "The Real Blogger Status", and the title of this post is "What's The URL Of My Blog?".

Embedded Comments And Main Page View

The option to display comments, embedded below the post, was made a blog option relatively recently. This was a long requested feature - and many bloggers added it to their blogs, as soon as the option was presented to us. Some blog owners like this feature so much, that they request it to be visible when the blog is opened, in main page view. I would like all comments, and the comment form, to be shown underneath the relevant post, automatically, for everyone to read without clicking on the number of comments link. And this is not how embedded comments work.
