Cookies Disabled / The "Remember Me" Option Is Not Working

Starting in early June 2010, we have been getting a few reports from bloggers about disabled cookies
When I login to Blogger, I am getting a message that I have cookies disabled.

Blogger Sign In We found the following errors:

Your browser's cookie functionality is disabled. Please enable JavaScript and cookies in order to use Blogger.
Alternately, some bloggers report that "Remember Me" does not work, or that they have to sign in, each time they wish to post a comment to somebody else's blog.

The ongoing problem with blocked third party cookies is not unknown, and is most likely the basis for this symptom. The question right now is what has caused the blocked cookies.

One possible cause for the problem is changes to computers running in Microsoft Windows, since Tuesday of last week was Microsoft Patch Tuesday. It's possible that other companies are releasing significant updates on or before Patch Tuesday.

If you are seeing any of these symptoms, please help us to help you. Post diagnostic details, here or in the Rollup discussion.
  • When did the problem start?
  • What operating system does your computer run?
  • What browser(s) do you use, where you observe this problem?
  • What browser(s) do you use, where you do not observe this problem?
  • What add-ons / browser helper objects / extensions are installed in your browser(s)?
  • What personal firewall / anti-malware / anti-virus packages are installed in your computer?

I am one of the users who doesn't get the message about cookies or Javascript (both are already enabled), but the "Remember me" function does not work. The blog in question is private, if that makes a difference.

- I first noticed the problem 3 days ago.
- I am using Windows 7.
- I use Firefox 3.
- I have No-script, but all scripts are allowed on blogger and google products. Also, it is not installed in Chrome (nor is any other add-on), and I encounter the same problem using that browser. I also have FireFTP and Zotero in Firefox.
- I have McAfee VirusScan Enterprise.

What's The URL Of My Blog?

We see the plea for help, periodically I need the URL of my blog, so I can give it to my friends. Help! Who's buried in Grant's Tomb, after all? No Chuck, be polite. OK, OK. The title of this blog is "The Real Blogger Status", and the title of this post is "What's The URL Of My Blog?".

Add A Custom Redirect, If You Change A Post URL

When you rename a blog, the most that you can do, to keep the old URL useful, is to setup a stub post , with a clickable link to the new URL. Yo! The blog is now at xxxxxxx.blogspot.com!! Blogger forbids gateway blogs, and similar blog to blog redirections . When you rename a post, you can setup a custom redirect - and automatically redirect your readers to the post, under its new URL. You should take advantage of this option, if you change a post URL.

Adding A Link To Your Blog Post

Occasionally, you see a very odd, cryptic complaint I just added a link in my blog, but the link vanished! No, it wasn't your imagination.
