Recent Problem With The Spam Classification Process

Recently, a number of blog owners have found themselves with deleted or locked blogs, and mysterious messages mentioning "Unusual activity on your account". When they try to surf their blogs, they see
The blog you were looking for was not found. If you are the owner of this blog, please sign in.
Upon signing in, they see their dashboard, and no mention of the missing blogs. Possibly they see the advice
You are not an author on any blogs yet, create one now to start posting!

In other cases, a blog owner may sign in, and see another previously experienced frustration
Blog is not locked

Your blog is not locked and does not need a review. If you are having problems accessing your blog or if you received an email saying that it was locked, please leave a message in the Help Group and we will investigate the issue.

After a brief diagnostic session, Blogger has issued a terse advice
We've identified a bug this morning which may temporarily delay the spam restoration process. If your blog or account was marked as spam recently, you may experience this delay.

The expectation is that your problem may be automatically resolved by them, though this may take a few hours.

If you are seeing this display in place of your blog, and clicking on "sign in" leaves you with no opportunity to request review of your blog - or if "sign in" cannot be clicked - first check security settings on your computer. Proper function of this display may require, as with Comments, Stats, and Template Designer, attention to cookie and script filtering.

If you are certain that cookie and script filtering, on your computer, is not an issue, post in the rollup discussion, in Blogger Help Forum: Something Is Broken. Please read instructions, before posting there.

(Update 2010/12/15): Blogger Support states that the problem which caused the locking of the blogs was corrected, all blogs affected were restored, and all side effects were corrected. The rollup discussion was closed also.

Just wanted you to know that I have often used your posts to help bloggers who e-mail me about problems on Blogger.
I'm really glad you are still doing your excellent work!
This is what my blog shows but this is the second time I have had to do this. I have submitted all of the appropriate report, requests for review and unlock:

Blogger's spam-prevention robots have detected that your blog has characteristics of a spam blog. (What's a spam blog?) Since you're an actual person reading this, your blog is probably not a spam blog. Automated spam detection is inherently fuzzy, and we sincerely apologize for this false positive.

We received your unlock request on December 10, 2010. On behalf of the robots, we apologize for locking your non-spam blog. Please be patient while we take a look at your blog and verify that it is not spam.

Help my blog is missing! It said the blog you are looking for was not found and to sign in. When I sign in I get my dashboard, but see only one blog and not the other. I would be devastated if I couldn't get it back. I have way too many memories on the blog of family. Thanks! johnsonfamily2002.blogspot.com

FYI Blogger - a restore from March of 2010 isn't going to cut it. Suddenly a blog I deleted months ago has just popped backup in the dashboard. This is horrible!

thanks for your help getting my blog back up, nitecrzr
Is this problem with blogs that might have been wandering towards being spam anyway or is this with blogs that are not spam at all?

It's December 29th and I just experienced this issue today. Will my blog automatically be restored? I have no idea where to go from here, as all the discussions seemed to already be closed up.

Nite you are a good man to work so hard on informing people of the process. I have to say I'm confused by the review process, especially worried about "three strikes" suddenly leaving me with no blogger blogs. I hope Google gets you some compensation for taking care of the (expensive and labor intensive) customer service items they like to leave to chance and the community.

Same problem here (21 Jan 2011). I had trouble accessing my account. When I finally reset my pw I discovered I had lost all of my THREE blogs. And I can assure you I NEVER spam, I barely send mails from this address.
So it's either an issue of someone hacking my account, then Google blocking all blogs in there, or something else I cannot guess.
Is there any way I could learn what's going on and for how long is this going to last? Should I give up hope?

My blog falls under #1 category

operationcleaneating.blogspot.com

please let me know if you need any further information to restore it. It's being featured in a local web magazine as we speak and I need it up asap for publication.

Thank you

Jill,

You have to state this in the rollup discussion, and be patient.

Adding A Link To Your Blog Post

Occasionally, you see a very odd, cryptic complaint I just added a link in my blog, but the link vanished! No, it wasn't your imagination.

Embedded Comments And Main Page View

The option to display comments, embedded below the post, was made a blog option relatively recently. This was a long requested feature - and many bloggers added it to their blogs, as soon as the option was presented to us. Some blog owners like this feature so much, that they request it to be visible when the blog is opened, in main page view. I would like all comments, and the comment form, to be shown underneath the relevant post, automatically, for everyone to read without clicking on the number of comments link. And this is not how embedded comments work.

What's The URL Of My Blog?

We see the plea for help, periodically I need the URL of my blog, so I can give it to my friends. Help! Who's buried in Grant's Tomb, after all? No Chuck, be polite. OK, OK. The title of this blog is "The Real Blogger Status", and the title of this post is "What's The URL Of My Blog?".
