So having backspaced carefully over this post postID, we get a cache surfing menu.

We'll take a peek at post #9197.

Post #9197 is an old post, that I was working on, last night. Here's what it looks like, in post editor.

Post #9197 - "Surfing The BlogOSphere", in preview display.

Back to post editor, and carefully (and anxiously) using the backspace button, I am back here (Wheww!), in post #5821.

Now, I very very carefully position the cursor at the end of the URL string, and press backspace. If I erase "7419184724930874214", the browser will start to show me other possibilities. This is called a "contextual" search. Be careful here, only erase "7419184724930874214".

We'll start this sufing adventure in post editor. Here we see this post, as I work on it. There's the post editor session, in the browser address window.

I position the cursor at the very end of the post editor URL, and carefully backspace over everything that follows the postID.

This post is #5821". See the selections, below the top (highlighted) one? There look to be at least 5 copies of this post, in cache. If you were surfing for cached copies of your lost post content, you might see this - and one of the selections in the menu might lead to your missing content.

If I backspace very very carefully over the postID, I get a menu of other posts. Next, we'll explore the cache surf menu, and the multiple post editor sessions.

Adding A Link To Your Blog Post

Occasionally, you see a very odd, cryptic complaint I just added a link in my blog, but the link vanished! No, it wasn't your imagination.

What's The URL Of My Blog?

We see the plea for help, periodically I need the URL of my blog, so I can give it to my friends. Help! Who's buried in Grant's Tomb, after all? No Chuck, be polite. OK, OK. The title of this blog is "The Real Blogger Status", and the title of this post is "What's The URL Of My Blog?".

Embedded Comments And Main Page View

The option to display comments, embedded below the post, was made a blog option relatively recently. This was a long requested feature - and many bloggers added it to their blogs, as soon as the option was presented to us. Some blog owners like this feature so much, that they request it to be visible when the blog is opened, in main page view. I would like all comments, and the comment form, to be shown underneath the relevant post, automatically, for everyone to read without clicking on the number of comments link. And this is not how embedded comments work.
