Static pages (aka "Pages" in Blogger speak) are becoming more and more popular. Recently, they are getting attention from folks who like to publish large display pages in their blogs - and would like to index their large display pages using another popular feature, "Jump Break". We see questions about adding Jump Break to static pages.
Jump Break, the Blogger standard solution for auto summarising display pages, works based upon any given post being viewed in individual post mode, where the post is displayed in its entirety - or in an archive retrieval / label search / main page display, where the post is summarised. The summarised view of the post contains a link, to the individual post display, labeled as "Read More".
Static pages are displayed in one mode - as a single, static page. Static pages aren't combined with other static pages. Since a static page is viewed only one way, there's no way to link from a summarised static page to a full view static page. Thus, there is no way to summarise a static page.
Sorry, this is one limitation that can't be avoided.
