Some Unsuccessful Custom Domain Purchases Involve Credit Card Authorisation Problems

We've recently seen a few reported custom domain problems diagnosed as unsuccessful domain purchases, in Blogger Help Forum: Something Is Broken.

Now, we have a good possibility for diagnosis of many common purchasing problems.

Today, in Google Apps: I purchased a domain through google, but I cannot get my blog to transfer to it, we see a suggestion that not all such problems may be caused by Blogger / Google.
I would like to point out that in most cases like this the root cause is generally that your purchase charge was declined (usually due to your billing information within your Google Checkout being incorrect or out of date). You can check the status of your order by logging into your Google Checkout account that you used to make the purchase at checkout.google.com

In cases where a WhoIs lookup on your domain gives us something similar to
MYNONXDOMAIN.COM IS AVAILABLE

mynonxdomain.com appears to be available
you might want to verify the status of your domain purchase, using Google Checkout. You can do this, even as you wait for your bank to tell you whether the registration charge has been posted against your bank account.

When you rename a blog, the most that you can do, to keep the old URL useful, is to setup a stub post , with a clickable link to the new URL. Yo! The blog is now at xxxxxxx.blogspot.com!! Blogger forbids gateway blogs, and similar blog to blog redirections . When you rename a post, you can setup a custom redirect - and automatically redirect your readers to the post, under its new URL. You should take advantage of this option, if you change a post URL.

Jump Break Is Visible Only In An Index Page

Some blog owners are unsure what a Jump Break looks like, when applied to their blogs. Occasionally, in Blogger Help Forum: Get Help with an Issue , we see the confusion. Where's the Jump Break? or I added a Jump Break to several posts, but it never shows up! When asked for a screen print of what they're seeing, they may provide a image of the post, in the Post Editor Preview window - or possibly, the published post, but in post page view.
