Email Forum Thread Updates To Me

As we work on various issues in Blogger Help Group, we discuss various issues with many different bloggers, with many bloggers operating on different schedules than we do.

Some folks may go for days before reading back in the forum, finding their help request, and reading our replies to their requests for help. Even more days may elapse before we see their replies. Some threads may then take weeks to complete, while others may take mere hours.

But there is hope for cutting some of the latency. At the top of each thread, behind the "Options" link, is a second link "Email updates to me". The volume of posts in BHG being what it is, you would be crazy to subscribe to BHG, in general, by email. But for individual threads, which you are concerned about, you can subscribe by email.

This helps augment the "Favorites" link at the very top, so we can track many more threads simultaneously.

Add A Custom Redirect, If You Change A Post URL

When you rename a blog, the most that you can do, to keep the old URL useful, is to setup a stub post , with a clickable link to the new URL. Yo! The blog is now at xxxxxxx.blogspot.com!! Blogger forbids gateway blogs, and similar blog to blog redirections . When you rename a post, you can setup a custom redirect - and automatically redirect your readers to the post, under its new URL. You should take advantage of this option, if you change a post URL.

Adding A Link To Your Blog Post

Occasionally, you see a very odd, cryptic complaint I just added a link in my blog, but the link vanished! No, it wasn't your imagination.
