Schizophrenia When Logging In To Blogger

If you're like me, and someone asks you for the URL to login to Blogger, you'll be like
DUH. http://www.blogger.com. Who is buried in Grant's tomb, anyway?

But, you would be wrong. With new Blogger, you are much better off logging in to https://www2.blogger.com/login.g.

The latter is secure, and it uses the scripts written for New Blogger ("www2.blogger.com"). If you don't login thru the latter, consistently, you could have problems that come and go.

For best results, bookmark https://www2.blogger.com/login.g - and use it - consistently, after you clear cache and cookies.

Also, see Help! My Blog Is Gone!: Login Problem for login problems of general natures.

For those that have a gazillion bookmarks, a cheater way to get the correct page to sign in is to open your blog itself (or someone's blog) on the web and click the sign in button on the blogger bar (upper right corner). If already signed in, it has the right link to log out.

Thanks for all of the input. I learned a lot surfing your site. More than when surfing the bloghelp and forums (which make me actually feel dumber and then I close the page).

Add A Custom Redirect, If You Change A Post URL

When you rename a blog, the most that you can do, to keep the old URL useful, is to setup a stub post , with a clickable link to the new URL. Yo! The blog is now at xxxxxxx.blogspot.com!! Blogger forbids gateway blogs, and similar blog to blog redirections . When you rename a post, you can setup a custom redirect - and automatically redirect your readers to the post, under its new URL. You should take advantage of this option, if you change a post URL.

Jump Break Is Visible Only In An Index Page

Some blog owners are unsure what a Jump Break looks like, when applied to their blogs. Occasionally, in Blogger Help Forum: Get Help with an Issue , we see the confusion. Where's the Jump Break? or I added a Jump Break to several posts, but it never shows up! When asked for a screen print of what they're seeing, they may provide a image of the post, in the Post Editor Preview window - or possibly, the published post, but in post page view.
