Blogger Blogs and the Widgeo Counter

We're seeing a few reports this weekend about blogs freezing when loading, with the mysterious address "http://0.0.0.0/" (and the precise text in this address varies from report to report), showing in the browser status bar.

Some bloggers have discovered that this is caused by the presence of the Widgeo counter being installed. Remove Widgeo, and the problem goes away. Find another visitor counter, that's more reliable.

If you're seeing this mysterious symptom in your blog, and Widgeo is not involved, diagnose your recent changes. Then, let us know what you diagnosed as the cause, in your case. Practice peer support.

that means when u will add a code from widgeo no mater if is a counter or something people what visit u blog will have pop ups. u blog will look cheap and not safe , and u will look not like a serios blogger.. i am on blogger are something like 3 months, im new but i stop to use thing from them after first week whit blogger. sometimes things like counters slow the blog speed, never stop to download the page and i belive some thing are smart if they know u ip, if u give the ip , u will not see what do.

Adding A Link To Your Blog Post

Occasionally, you see a very odd, cryptic complaint I just added a link in my blog, but the link vanished! No, it wasn't your imagination.

Embedded Comments And Main Page View

The option to display comments, embedded below the post, was made a blog option relatively recently. This was a long requested feature - and many bloggers added it to their blogs, as soon as the option was presented to us. Some blog owners like this feature so much, that they request it to be visible when the blog is opened, in main page view. I would like all comments, and the comment form, to be shown underneath the relevant post, automatically, for everyone to read without clicking on the number of comments link. And this is not how embedded comments work.

What's The URL Of My Blog?

We see the plea for help, periodically I need the URL of my blog, so I can give it to my friends. Help! Who's buried in Grant's Tomb, after all? No Chuck, be polite. OK, OK. The title of this blog is "The Real Blogger Status", and the title of this post is "What's The URL Of My Blog?".
